Suite à des rapports récents concernant des montgolfières entrant dans la RMZ/TMZ d'EBKT sans transpondeur actif et/ou sans contact radio, l'équipe de promotion de la sécurité de la BCAA souhaite rappeler les exigences en matière de communications lors du survol d’une RMZ/TMZ.
- Exigences en matière de communications et de transpondeur SSR :
Le règlement européen (UE) 923/2012, section 6/SERA.6005, précise les exigences générales applicables à tous les aéronefs lorsqu'ils volent dans une RMZ/TMZ.
Les règles générales d'exploitation en RMZ/TMZ sont également reprises dans la Publication d'information aéronautique, AIP pour la BELGIQUE (ENR 1.1 §1.9).

- Exigences obligatoires :
Les exigences spécifiques pour le survol de la RMZ/TMZ de Courtrai sont décrites dans l'AIP. Ces exigences doivent être respectées par tous les aéronefs, y compris les montgolfières (HAB).
Veuillez noter qu'un transpondeur Mode S est obligatoire pour traverser la RMZ/TMZ de Courtrai pour tous les aéronefs, AD EBKT 2.17.

Dear Aeronauts,
Following recent reports of Hot Air Balloons entering the RMZ/TMZ of EBKT without active transponder and/or radio contact, the BCAA Safety Promotion team would like to remind the HAB community about the transponder and radio requirements when flying in specific RMZ/TMZ.
- Requirements for communications and SSR Transponder:
The European Regulation (EU) 923/2012, section 6/SERA.6005, specifies the general requirements when operating in RMZ/TMZ and applying to all aircraft.
General rules for operating in RMZ/TMZ are also adopted into the Aeronautical Information Publication, AIP for BELGIUM (ENR 1.1 §1.9).

- Mandatory Requirements:
The specific requirements for flying across the Kortrijk RMZ/TMZ are described in the AIP. These requirements must be complied with by all aircrafts, including Hot Air Balloons (HAB).
Please note that a transponder Mode S is compulsory to fly across Kortrijk RMZ/TMZ for all aircraft, AD EBKT 2.17.

A mandatory safety briefing for all aircraft intending to operate to/from EBKT is available online (latest update 11.07.2024). The information contained in this briefing may also be of interest for other aircraft operators intending to fly in the vicinity of EBKT and/or inside the RMZ/TMZ.
